Let Go

I’m trying to let my words have a life of their own

Let go, and relinquish my hold

Over – protective parent at the window

Keeping a close watch

Won’t let them out of my sight

But I need to give them room to fly

Wait for their wings to catch flight

I know they’ll be fine

There’s a world waiting for them to see

A life waiting for them to live

I can’t keep them hidden

In the name of keeping them protected
